Pregmate App

Ovulation Tracker & Fertility App

Most ovulation trackers estimate your fertile window from your last period date. Pregmate uses your cycle history and your LH test results together, so you're working with real data, not just dates.

How Pregmate tracks your ovulation

Pregmate combines cycle predictions with LH test data to help you understand your fertile window. You get both a forecast based on your history and real results from your tests, in the same timeline.

Predictions based on your history

The app uses your cycle history to predict when ovulation is likely. The more cycles you log, the more specific the prediction becomes. If your cycles vary, predictions adapt to your patterns over time.

Real results from your tests

Scan your ovulation test strip in the app. The scanner reads both lines and gives you a T/C ratio, a number comparing your test line to the control line. Every scan saves with your cycle day, date, and photo.

Two data points, one timeline

Together, they can help you see where you may be in your surge, how your current cycle compares to previous ones, and how your predicted window lines up with your actual test results.

What is a fertile window — and how do you find yours

Your fertile window is roughly six days each cycle — the five days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself. Sperm can survive up to five days in the reproductive tract, but the egg is viable for only 12 to 24 hours after release. That's why timing matters.

A 28-day cycle typically ovulates around day 14, but yours might not be 28 days, and your ovulation day can shift by several days from cycle to cycle. Stress, sleep, illness, and hormonal changes can all affect timing.

Three ways people track their fertile window:

Method What it measures Timing Limitation
Calendar method Cycle length history Estimates window in advance Doesn't account for cycle variation
Basal body temperature (BBT) Post-ovulation temp rise Suggests ovulation occurred after temp shift Too late to time intercourse
LH test strips Luteinizing hormone surge Detects surge 24–36 hours before ovulation Line intensity can be hard to read by eye
Cervical mucus Changes in discharge texture Can signal approaching ovulation Subjective, varies person to person

The ovulation predictor built into your phone

You don't need a separate device. Pregmate's scanner turns your phone camera into an LH test reader that saves every result to your cycle history.

Open the app, tap Add Test, position your strip using the on-screen guide, and get your result. Positive or negative, plus a T/C ratio that shows how your test line intensity compares to the control line.

Why the T/C ratio matters:

Everyone's LH surge looks different. Some people get dark, obvious lines. Others have subtler surges that are easy to miss by eye. The T/C ratio gives you a number instead of a guess, so you can see your surge building over days and help identify your typical peak pattern, even if your lines never get dramatically dark.

What you can track over time:

  • When your surge typically starts relative to your cycle day
  • How many days your surge lasts
  • Whether your peak is sharp or gradual
  • How your pattern compares across cycles

Built for real life

Your cycles aren't always predictable. Your plans can change. The app works either way.

No regular cycle? The app still works.

Pregmate adjusts predictions to your actual cycle history. With PCOS, you may see multiple LH rises in one cycle. Tracking your T/C ratio across several days can help you spot your real surge. If you have concerns about ovulation, talk to your doctor.

Your data stays with you

Everything you track is private, visible only to you. Edit or delete anything at any time. If you get pregnant, the app moves into pregnancy tracking — your ovulation history, test results, and cycle data stay in the same timeline. Nothing resets.

This app is wonderful and simple to use. It's easy to upload tests and extremely easy to navigate your ovulation and pregnancy questions. It helped me keep track of my cycle and get pregnant within 3 months of downloading the app. Definitely an everyday use app!

I've tried many apps and this one is by far the easiest, and helpful one I've used including the free version. It's easy to keep up with and stress free. I highly recommend this app.

I like being able to upload my ovulation tests and all of the other features of this app. Its calculators and predictions have been the most accurate of all the apps I've tried.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to track ovulation?

The most reliable approach combines cycle predictions with LH test strips. Your cycle history tells you when to expect your fertile window. LH tests detect the hormone surge that typically occurs 24–36 hours before ovulation. Tracking cervical mucus changes can add another signal. Pregmate brings these together: the app predicts your window, the built-in scanner reads your LH test, and your results save to one timeline. Over time, this helps you see when your surge typically happens and how it shifts from cycle to cycle.

How accurate is an ovulation tracker app?

Accuracy depends on what data the app uses. Apps that rely only on calendar math are limited by cycle-to-cycle variation — even regular cycles can shift by several days. Pregmate improves on this by incorporating LH test data through the scanner. The more cycles you track and the more tests you scan, the sharper your predictions become. No app can guarantee 100% accuracy. Ovulation timing shifts with stress, sleep, and other factors.

Can I use Pregmate as a fertility tracker if I have PCOS?

Yes. The app tracks your actual cycle data, not a textbook average. If your cycles vary, Pregmate adjusts predictions based on your history. For LH testing: PCOS can keep LH levels elevated, which means you may see multiple rises in a single cycle. Tracking your T/C ratio across several days can help you find your real surge among them. If you have concerns about ovulation, talk to your doctor.

Does an LH surge mean I'm definitely ovulating?

An LH surge indicates that ovulation is likely within 24–36 hours, but it does not guarantee that ovulation will occur. In most cycles, a surge leads to ovulation. But stress, illness, or PCOS can occasionally produce a surge without an egg being released. Pregmate tracks the LH signal — it is not a diagnostic tool for confirming ovulation.

Is Pregmate's ovulation tracker free?

Yes. Cycle predictions, LH test scanning with T/C ratio, test history with photos, and fertile window tracking are all free. Premium adds personalized daily insights, cycle phase symptom breakdowns, and advanced reports, but the core ovulation tracking features don't require a subscription.

When should I start using ovulation test strips?

A common recommendation is to begin testing a few days before your expected ovulation date. If your cycle is around 28 days, that typically means starting around cycle day 10 or 11. Pregmate's predictions can help you decide when to start based on your personal cycle history, so you're not guessing or wasting strips.

Should I have sex before or after a positive ovulation test?

A positive test suggests your LH surge is occurring and ovulation may follow within 24–36 hours. Many people have intercourse on the day of a positive test and the days just before, as this is when chances of conception are generally highest.

Can I ovulate without a positive test?

It's possible. Some people have LH surges that are too brief or too low to show a clear positive on a strip. If you consistently get negative results but notice other signs like cervical mucus changes or a BBT shift, bring your tracking data to your doctor.

How is Pregmate different from other ovulation apps?

Most ovulation apps predict your fertile window from calendar math. Pregmate adds a built-in LH test scanner that reads your strip and gives you a T/C ratio, a number comparing your test line to the control line. You get both a prediction and your actual test results on the same timeline, so you can see how your expected window lines up with what your tests are showing.
